The Metropolitan Center for Urban Education is an applied research organization that focuses on educational research, policy and practice. We are a partner and resource at the local and national levels in strengthening and improving access, opportunity and the quality of education in our schools. Our mission is to target issues related to educational equity by providing leadership and support to students, teachers, parents, administrators, and policymakers.
The Metropolitan Center for Urban Education at New York University is pleased to announce the availability of a post-doctoral fellowship. Candidates for this position will work closely with the staff of the center in carrying out empirical research, writing reports and engaging in scholarly presentations on topics broadly related to racial and gender equity in education, factors influencing student achievement, the impact of school reform on student academic outcomes, and the experiences of immigrant students in US public schools. The ideal candidate will have a combination of experience and training in qualitative and quantitative research. Also a knowledge base in supplemental education, and K-12 populations in urban settings
This is a research opportunity and no teaching is required for this one-year appointment. Annual salaryis based upon experience. Comprehensive benefits include 401K, health and life insurance, and tuition / remission.
