Applications are invited for a Research Associate (post-doctoral) to join a team of investigators in the Department of Physiology at the University of Arizona led by John P. Konhilas, Ph.D. The candidate will also be part of the Molecular Cardiovascular Research Program and the Sarver Heart Center. Specific studies investigate the mechanisms underlying the impact of sex/gender, disease and exercise on molecular and cellular biology of the heart and how it affects cardiac contractile function and myocellular signaling. The candidate should have profound knowledge of molecular and cellular biology and biochemistry, possess and maintain technical skills in multiple areas including molecular cloning and protein expression systems using both prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms, cell and tissue culture. Experience with adeno-viral or adeno-associated viral technology is highly desirable but not required. Candidates must be willing to work independently as well as in a team setting.
