POST-DOCTORAL POSITION IN VISUAL NEUROSCIENCE
Center for Perceptual Systems, University of Texas at Austin

The laboratory of Eyal Seidemann at the Center for Perceptual Systems
in the University of Texas at Austin is seeking applications for an
NIH-funded postdoctoral fellowship. Our laboratory studies mechanisms
of population coding in the visual cortex using a powerful combination
of optical imaging with voltage-sensitive dyes and electrophysiology.
Neurophysiological and psychophysical experiments are combined with
computational and modeling techniques. The successful applicant would
have an opportunity to work closely with our collaborators, Bill
Geisler, Randolph Blake and David Heeger. The Center for Perceptual
Systems (www.cps.utexas.edu) and the Institute for Neuroscience at UT
Austin (www.neuroscience.utexas.edu) offer excellent facilities, an
outstanding interdisciplinary scientific environment and a very
collegial atmosphere. Austin is an affordable city and is widely
considered one of the most beautiful and livable cities in the US.

Computational background, programming experience (C/C++/Matlab), and
experience with neurophysiology or psychophysics are desirable. Please
send CV, statement of research interests and the names of three
references to Eyal Seidemann (eyal [ à ] mail.cps.utexas.edu).
