A regular full time position is available in Hematology, a division of the Department of Medicine, within Thomas Jefferson University. The Post-doctoral Fellow will perform experiments under the direction of the Principal Investigator of NIH-funded studies using transgenic mouse models to investigate the pathophysiology of clinically significant immune-mediated platelet disorders. The requirements of the position include performance of various molecular biology, biochemical, immunological and other routine laboratory procedures.
Operation and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation, i.e., thermocyclers, centrifuges, electrophoresis apparatus, spectrophotometers, etc. is also required. Additionally, the position involves extensive work with laboratory mice. Qualifications/requirements for this position are that the candidate has at least 2 years basic research experience with a broad array of technical expertise, especially molecular biology and a background in immunology. PhD required.
