UK; University of Edinburgh PhD Studentships Physics and Astronomy

A number of EPSRC-DTA funded PhD places are available within the Condensed Matter Research Group in the School of Physics. The interests of this group encompass high-pressure physics, superconductivity, soft condensed matter (colloids, liquid crystals, etc), statistical physics, biophysics, and optical and molecular physics.

A wide range of experimental, computational, and theoretical projects are available. Examples of possible project areas and supervisors are listed in http://www.ph.ed.ac.uk/cmatter/

These studentships are restricted to UK citizens or EU citizens ,who have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years or more (including time spent in full time education) due to funding restrictions from the UK research council
