Nanoparticle-mediated drug delivery
The CNS Inflammation Group in the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Southampton wishes to appoint a postdoctoral scientist to join a multi-disciplinary team working on the use of nanoparticles as drug delivery vehicles to the central nervous system. Your aspect of the project will focus on determining the release kinetics of compounds delivered using nanoparticles, by investigating the triggering of intracellular signalling cascades, in in-vitro model systems. A sound knowledge of molecular biology techniques, including western-blotting, ELISA and RT-PCR, together with immuno-histochemical expertise are needed.
An experimental laboratory background is essential and project management skills are desirable. The post requires a graduate with a PhD in a relevant subject area.
The position is full-time and available immediately for a period of 10 months in the first instance.
