Post-Doctoral Research Fellow
Multisensory Integration and Self-Face Recognition

Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral Research Fellow position
to work on an ESRC funded project: “Looking for myself: interactions
between multisensory integration and recognition of one’s own face”
with Dr. Manos Tsakiris. The project will involve a series of
behavioural and neurophysiological experiments investigating how
combined visual, tactile and motor signals modulate self-face
recognition.
Applicants should have a PhD in psychology or neuroscience, a strong
background in experimental design and behavioural measurement, and
strong technical abilities in experimental computer programming and
data analysis. Previous experience of sensorimotor systems research
is desirable. In particular, experience in multisensory and/or face
processing research in behavioural and/or neuroimaging experiments is
highly desirable.
The preferred start date is 1st November, 2008 or as soon as can be
arranged, for a period which may be up to 36 months. Informal

The salary for this post is £28,997 per annum plus London Allowance
of £2,134.
The Psychology Department has an excellent research profile (rated 5
in the last RAE) and high teaching standards (rated 24/24 in the last
TQA). It benefits from excellent facilities for undertaking research
(with state-of-the-art facilities such as social observation labs, a
developmental studies centre, MRI, action research lab, cognitive
behavioural testing suites). The College has a beautiful leafy campus
and is conveniently situated close to both Central London and
Heathrow Airport .
